The IE and Bioinformatics groups meet weekly during Fall and Spring semesters. Each week one or two students, professors, or visitors gives a talk about their research topic. After the lecture portion is over, the seminar is opened up for discussion and questions. It is a good opportunity for the students to get feedback on current progress and new ideas.
The meetings are open to all interested people and we actively encourage graduate students, undergrads and others who may share an interest in the subjects discussed to join us.
We claim the format is quite relaxed and informal, but any one of the group members would quietly tell you that sometimes things get a little intense as we share ideas and debate about them.
